Kwaito legend Mapaputsi, real name Sandile Ngwenya, is refusing to stay out of the music scene.
The singer and songwriter is back with a brand new single titled Shooting Star, which he describes as the origins of kwaito music.
“Back in the 90s, kwaito gave us a break and a chance to be something in life. We were able to achieve so many things through it,” Mapaputsi said.
He told SunBuzz that although the single is play listed, the music game has changed in a way that there is no longer a rush to release an album without first releasing a couple of singles to create demand for the album.
“It’s been nine years since I released any music, but now I see that music will always be part of my life.
“I plan to also nurture and groom up-and-coming artists in order to impart my knowledge and skills to the next generation of hit-makers,” he said.
The Kleva hit-maker said Shooting Star is now available on downloads and online music platforms. – DailySun.
