CASTLE Lite has declared a cold war on the heat in Bulawayo as the brand is set to host a block party to ensure drinkers keep it cool and stay refreshed with the extra cold beverage.
Dubbed the “Castle Lite Extra Cold Block Party”, the event, which was a hit when it was inaugurated in Harare last year, will be held on October 29 outside Horizon Night Club (corner Fife Street and 8th Avenue).
Comedian Babongile Sikhonjwa, Cal_Vin and top DJs, Liz, Mzoe, Kead Wikead, Crazy Black and Pam have been trusted to rock partygoers at the gig that is expected to kick off at 3PM.
Other than performances, a number of ‘Extra Cold’ activities have been lined up including the new Castle Lite Unlocker Challenge, the Extra Cold Challenge Units and Extra Cold Photo Booth.
In a statement, Delta Beverages said: “As the name ‘Extra Cold Block Party’ suggests, the event involves the closing off of select streets to create a party block within a designated area where consumers gather to be entertained by the country’s top DJ’s and select artists.”
Entry will be free and regrettably, it will not be a family fun day as access to the event will not be permitted to persons under the age of 18 years.
“As one of the stringent safety measures in line with international best practice at events, event-goers will not be permitted to bring onto the site any bottles, or any other beverage containers, narcotics, weapons, glass, or any other contraband materials.
“Screening measures will be put in place to ensure that the rules are adhered to.”
Since the party will be a Castle Lite affair, Extra Cold Castle Lite, the only beer lagered at -2.5°C will be sold at reduced prices of a $1 for a 440ml can. Draught lager beers will be sold at $1 per 500ml.
