Ammara, Tytan’s new video causes media buzz

Contemporary musician Ammara Brown and rapper Tytan’s video for the song Mukoko has caused a social media buzz yesterday with people saying its choreography was one of the best that they had seen come out of Zimbabwe.

The video released yesterday on Ammara’s Facebook page and also on video sharing site YouTube had award winning choreographer John Cole directing all the dances performed in the video.

The music video shot in Mbare, Harare two weeks ago had over 20 000 views on Facebook after just 12 hours of its release by yesterday evening. Also a surprise feature in the video is radio and television personality Tinopona “Tin Tin” Katsande who makes a cameo appearance.

After posting the video on her Facebook page Ammara’s fans got to congratulating her and also complementing her for video.

The video also caught the eye of National Art Merit Award winner Nqobizitha “Enqore” Mlilo who shared and posted: “Shout out to Tytan Skhokho, Ammara Brown and Walter Chawota and the rest of the crew on a dope video!!!”

Comedian Carl Joshua Ncube was also in awe after watching and sharing the music video.

“Ammara Brown is like a SINGER, DANCER, FREAKING GORGEOUS VIDEO VIXEN all in ONE….Yoh,” posted on his Facebook fan page.

Definitely one of my favourite Zim tracks right now … Production/Vocals on point. World music vibes from Jusa Dementor & Ammara Brown,” wrote one of the fans.

Ammara also expressed her excitement on the 20 000 views saying she was speechless.

“20,000 plus views combined in 12 hours?!!! How do I thank you for the sweet noise across all networks?! I’m speechless! ‪#‎MUKOKO‬,” posted Ammara.

Showing off a sneak peak of the music video last week Ammara Brown shared that they shot all scenes of the music video in one day.

“We were racing against the rain with our 6am call time (on set: Mbare). As the Ammartians gathered around to watch us, we shot all 12 scenes, through the rain and sunshine! My brilliant co star, Tytan, was a pleasure to witness! While the Mukoko cast and crew, proved to be irreplaceable, working tirelessly throughout the day. The amazing Ammartians came in the masses and landed up dancing with us! The footage looks as fantastic and fun as it was! I give great thanks,” posted Ammara.

After the release of the song in January Ammara has been for the past months Ammara Brown has been sharing videos of her preparing dances for her music video shoot.

The music video was directed by Director: Walter Chawota (Mr with the script done by Ammara and Tytan, with make up by Taku and Impeccable Nails. The outfits were done by Hellane assisted by Chena Neni Fashion.
